My sister was recently promoted as a Medical Billing Specialist. She is an accounting graduate but was accepted in the hospital as a clerk. Applying for a job during that time was tough so she accepted the position even if it was way below her skills. The hospital might have seen how efficient she is and promoted her as soon as there was an opening for a higher position.

She is now responsible for recording and processing all the patients’ data — insurance information; bills; treatment records; received payments; and balances — input all these in the computer and send copies to all the persons concerned. She must do this efficiently and accurately. She also handles the coding of the patient’s diagnosis and processing of requests payments from the patients or their insurance company.

She says her job now is more challenging and that she is enjoying that she’s dealing again with numbers and records.

Thousands of people packed the streets of Downtown Dallas for the Dallas Mavericks parade on the 16th of June. Fans poured into the streets from their downtown and Uptown Dallas apartments. Over 250,000 people showed up in celebration of Dallas beating the Miami Heat and holding an NBA title for the first time in 31 years. There were many extremely emotional fans as well as players at this historic event.

All of Dallas’ fans came together for this event and sang, chanted, and cheered to support their home team. This was the players and owners way of thanking the city of Dallas for their support over the years.

Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas’s most valuable player, received the biggest reaction and loudest cheers. Dirk lead his fans in singing “We are the Champions” during the rally. Later on Mark Cuban surprised Nowitzki with a happy birthday song to celebrate his 33rd birthday which was June 19th.
